Wisconsin property tax calculator
The median yearly bill for Wisconsin homeowners is $3,792, equal to 1.42% of $266,500, the median value of a home.
This is an estimate, not a bill. Your value comes from your county assessor (or an appraisal district in some states), while your local taxing units set the rates. Before you pay or protest, check with your county.

To apply, choose Schedule H or the shorter form, Schedule H-EZ. Include it with your Wisconsin income tax return or file it by itself. E-filing through WisTax is possible, or you can file on paper.

Appealing a Wisconsin property tax assessment
APPEAL BYGive notice 48 hours ahead of the first meeting of the Board of Review, then file a written objection within that meeting's first two hours
If you want to appeal your home's assessed value, let the Board of Review clerk know in writing or orally that you intend to object. Do this at least 48 hours before the first meeting. After that, submit Objection Form PA-115A during the meeting's first two hours.
The Local Board of Review (BOR) conducts the first hearing. When a city has a Board of Assessors, that board hears the case first.

Help for disabled homeowners
A claimant who is disabled, under 62, and has no earned income may still claim the homestead credit. Attach documents that show disability. These can be a physician's statement or a Veterans Administration statement showing 100 percent disability. A Social Security document also works.
